Chemo Cap Knitting and Sewing Pattern by Val's Art Studio- Digital Download

$6.00
This is a pattern I designed years ago for a friend who lost her hair due to chemo treatments. I have photos on my Ravelry page, and am making the pattern available for sale here in my Etsy shop. Please visit my Ravelry page by clicking here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cute-chemo-cap

I designed the pattern for warmer climates, with a combination of a knitted band and a lightweight scarf. This is meant to look like you are just wearing a scarf gathered at the nape of the neck. It feels like you have a ponytail, and looks very stylish as well.

This is meant to be knit with stash yarns, as a way to use up some of those misc beloved small balls of yarn you have laying around. I suggest using a very soft cotton yarn, that is comfortable against the skin, and breathes. I also suggest using a 100% cotton fabric. Of course, other yarns and fabrics may be used. You are also welcome to crochet the band instead of knitting, however, I am not a crocheter, so I do not know how to modify the pattern for crochet.

Here are the materials you will need to use in order to create this head scarf:
- Approximately 1/4 skein of a soft yarn
- Appropriate sized knitting needles for the yarn you choose
- 3/4 yard of quilting weight fabric, or a 28" square piece of fabric
- Sewing machine (optional), or hem tape or sewing glue
- Iron
- Sharp scissors
- Needles, pins and thread

Here's what others have said who have purchased and made this pattern:
- "Very cute chemo hat that is easy to make! It is very important that women still feel beautiful without their hair and this hat helps. Love that it gives the impression of hair. I don't knit or crochet, so I made a band with contrast fabric instead. These hats could be used for many other uses such as a scrub cap/hair cover, just went swimming..."
- "Easy to follow. When I had questions, Val answered right away. Hat turned out so cute. Thanks for a stylish option to help a woman going through a hard time!"

Thank you for your care and concern regarding the person in your life who is going through cancer treatments. A little prayer is sent with each purchase in hopes your love one makes a full recovery. Or, that they feel comfortable and stylish as they make their way through difficult days.

x, Val
