Such an irresistible birdie friend in a 5" embroidery hoop. This needle felted scene features a beautiful hummingbird sitting on a branch, looking so fine. My own design, created on a canvas of upholstery fabric and fabric from my scrap bin with a bit of added embroidery stitching. The bird's body is needle felted onto the fabric background. I use the most luscious hand dyed mohair fiber with added sparkle. Tree leaves made of repurposed wool added for extra charm.
Conveys just the right amount of sweet, sophistication, retro, and whimsy, perfect to bring a measure of happiness to a room that needs just that. Makes a delightful and unique gift. Would also make a perfect gift for the Bird Lover (you?!) Sits happily on a shelf (stand is NOT included), or hangs from a pin or small nail on the wall. Care instructions for this fiber art piece is simple: approximately twice a year, using a hair dryer set on low and the "cool" heat setting, gently blow off any accumulated dust. It is also advisable to keep the art away from direct sunlight so as to prevent fading.
