This course covers Flat Needle Felting instruction, as well as sewing patterns, and coaching on expanding your creativity in many new and unusual ways.

Now that the course is "live", you can access the class content via a password protected website anytime, on any day YOU choose, and at the time of YOUR choice. You might elect to go through the class lessons quickly, over a few days, or may take several months to go through the lessons at a slower pace. The choice is yours! FLAT Needle Felts is for anyone who is interested in learning how to embellish clothing, or place your own needle felted art on a fabric substrate for making art suitable for room decor, making decorative art, for artistically repairing damaged clothing and more! In general, you will be learning the relaxing and forgiving craft of needle felting and how to use this craft on a Flat substrate, or "canvas".
Whether you are a beginner who has never done any needle felting before, or someone who has dabbled at the craft successfully - or unsuccessfully! I will get you set on the right track. No matter where you are on your creative path, if you are willing to explore and play, then this class is right for you!
You may have purchased a needle felting kit or supplies and do not know how to get started. Or, maybe you've watched those YouTube videos and still feel lost. My method of teaching will resolve all your questions, and show you how to create amazing needle felted art creations. Your creations will be formed correctly, will stay in place on the garment, and will open the door to a craft you can work on anywhere, anytime. After this class, you will feel comfortable creating needle felted art onto your clothing, create art that is suitable to be framed and displayed, ready your art to be made into a decorative pillow and much more- to your heart's content!
Through several step-by-step high-quality instructional videos where I work side-by-side with novice needle felters, real life questions and answers, supportive encouragement, and feedback from students in the videos, you will learn the miraculous way wool is sculpturally shaped by delicate barbed needles, and the way to wool grabs into the base fabric you are needle felting onto. You will feel like we are working side-by-side as you view the videos in the comfort of your home or studio. You will feel like I am teaching and supporting you as you create your projects at your own pace.

- Sewing skills are not required for this course, however if you sew on a sewing machine, you will get the most from this course. Additional instruction and demos are given for hand sewing which you can use if you are not a seamstress. We also talk about attaching fabrics together using fabric glue - so many lessons are covered in this series of classes!
- Clearly organized written content with supporting photos and inspirational prompts for clearing and readying your mind for art making!

** As I am currently finishing video content, it is evident to me there is WAY MORE in this particular course than I had previously considered. It is possible that I may break the course up into individual modules sometime in the future since the lessons are so dense. There is just SO MUCH GOOD STUFF in this course!
** Also, please NOTE: These classes are focused on DRY needle felting. This is NOT Nuno felting or Wet felting. NO water, access to sinks, or anything having to do with water based felting techniques are involved in any of my classes. The type of dry needle felting I teach is done with loose wool fiber and barbed needles with a backing mat. Projects can be done sitting in a chair and working on your lap.This is a fantastic craft, and I can guarantee that with a bit of patience and some creativity, you will adore this wonderful craft, and all the amazing art you create!
