This listing is for a beautiful needle felted pillow featuring a Pink Grosbeak bird sitting in a wooded wreath contemplating an array of yummy berries. Handmade by me from upcycled felted sweater wool and fabrics from my scrap bin. I have combined lovely shades of felted greys and pink wool with Fair Isle to make a beautiful patchwork background, sewed them together, added topstitching, then added a beautiful needle felted bird sitting within a wood wreath to the surface. I mix sparkle fiber into the colors of the bird, so it shimmers wherever it is perched... so pretty! I then add needle felted berries and leaves with stitched details, for extra charm. The pillow border is created from fabric scraps from my stash in a mix of soft pink gingham and , which compliment the front of the pillow perfectly. The pillow back is finished with a lovely upholstery weight fabric in a creme matelasse with embossed leaves. It's stuffed to the brim with hypo-allergenic fiberfill.
This beautiful and unique pillow would make a fabulous gift, and will certainly delight the recipient (even if that's YOU!) The pillow is an eye catcher in any room. This pillow is made up and is ready to ship. I do not have any more of the delicate Fair Isle wool, so this pillow is one of a kind. Another can be made but would not have the same delicate background mix of fabrics.
Yes, I know this pillow is expensive, but it is an original work of wool art, very unique and unusual. Showcasing this beautiful pillow in your home allows others to see what discriminating taste you have. This is what I call "room art that doesn't have to hang on the walls" and is perfect to display in a little used chair, on a guest room bed, or on a special shelf in a visible bookcase, in case you have to keep it away from your four legged friends. ;o) In all cases, it should be displayed in an area that gets little use. This is an art pillow, and should be handled with care and love.
The pillow measurements are approximately 10 x 12 x 3.5". Gentle spot cleaning only is recommended. May be dry cleaned, however, I have never personally done this. so I'm not entirely sure of the outcome. In all cases, machine washing is NOT recommended!
